Recording a Paperless Session

If you want to record audio without writing on Livescribe Dot Paper, you can create paperless audio. Your smartpen acts as an audio recorder only.

While recording a paperless session, you can, at any time, just start writing notes. The session is now linked to your notes and is no longer paperless.

If you have already recorded a paperless session, you can play it back and begin writing on Livescribe Dot Paper. The paperless session is linked to your notes and is no longer paperless.

You can start a paperless session in any of the following ways: The new paperless session will appear in the Paper Replay session list.
To play back a paperless session, use the Menu button to browse Paper Replay sessions. A paperless session has an asterisk (*) next to the filename in the Select Session list.

If recording the paperless session was the last action you took, you can also access the session by tapping on the 0% point of the position bar paper button.

Tip: Sessions are much easier to play back if you can tap a note. Consider writing a brief note, such as a title and date, so that you can tap it later to play back the recording. It's like creating your own button to play the associated audio.
