Launching Apps with Launch Line

You can use Launch Line to quickly launch many smartpen apps.

Launch Line can start any app that allows you to write on unused Livescribe Dot paper These include Piano, calc, Paper Replay, and Stock Quote Lookup.

Tap Around is a Launch Line feature that mimics navigating the app's menu using the Menu button. The areas immediately surrounding a Launch Line function as the directional areas of the Menu button: up, down, left, right, and center. A Tap Around area works only to navigate the menus and lists of the app specified in the Launch Line.

  1. Draw a Launch Line.
    1. Draw a horizontal line on your Livescribe Dot Paper and — without lifting your smartpen tip from the page — immediately retrace the line in the other direction. Try to end close to where you started.

      The smartpen beeps to indicate that it has entered Launch Line mode.

    2. Immediately write the name of the app above the horizontal line.
      With its predictive text feature, your smartpen shows the first command that matches your written input.
  2. Launch the app by tapping the center of the app name.

    If the name is a unique match to an app, the app launches automatically.

  3. You can use the Tap Around feature to navigate the app: Tap just above, below, left, or right of the name to perform the corresponding functions of the Menu button.
  4. After creating a Launch Line, it remains active. You can tap it at any time to launch the app.
