If you get the message:

“An error occurred creating your session for upload. Please contact customer support for help.”

…while trying to upload an audio session to Livescribe Online, it may be that the session was recorded while writing in two or more physical notebooks. Livescribe Desktop is currently not able to upload sessions to Livescribe Online that were recorded while writing occurs across multiple notebooks.

If the recording was made while writing in only one notebook, at some point while recording audio and writing on your notebook pages you may have made an ink stroke on the inside front or back cover of that notebook outside of the control areas. Our notebook pages and notebook covers are considered two different virtual notebooks, even though they are part of the same physical paper product.

Until we can resolve this issue in a future version of the software, there are two workarounds:

1.      If you don’t need animated ink and you only used one notebook you could start recording audio with the smartpen, playback the session audio through your computer speakers, and write a new ink stroke on the first page or trace over an existing character or part of an ink stroke on that page. When the audio gets to the writing on the second page, write or trace an ink stroke on the second page, and so on. When you transfer the new session to Livescribe Desktop only the strokes that you made will be animated, but all of the strokes on the page will appear as part of the session.

2.      If you need animated ink you could start recording audio with the smartpen, playback the session audio through your computer speakers, and write the notes again on new pages in one notebook.

After you have recorded your new session you can upload it to Livescribe Online again without the error.

Please let us know if the two scenarios above do not apply.
