I have an Android phone. I go to the website to view my Pencasts. I have an iPad. I use this cool little app to view my Pencasts because apple does not support flash. There seems to be one person on here that is constantly spamming these reviews saying they want a port to android so they can upload notes to their phone. Just to clarify: the Pencast player for iOS does NOT let you connect the Pen to the iPad/iPhone/iPod and upload notes. It just provides a flash interface for the website (since a native flash implementation is missing on iOS). Android already HAS a native flash implementation. Therefore, on my HTC Thunderbolt, I just go to the website. Mr/Mrs Android Spammer: you still need either a windows or mac computer to use Livescribe (via Livescribe Desktop). This iOS app is NOT Livescribe Desktop for the apple platform. Its just a way around apple's dumb “no flash” rule. Be HAPPY that we don't need a player app for android =) Hope that helps resolve any confusion.

The previous response about livescribe working on android is absolutley correct. I tried it on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (ICS). Go to livescribe website, login, go to my account and select my notebook. Audio and text workedjust fine. Just like accessing it from a public PC without LD. It would be nice to have an app available in the market, but there is nothing preventing you from reviewing your recordings under android.

It's pretty sad when the only five star reviews given are from livescribe...listen to your customers- give us an android app! We don't want to have to log in online on a non-mobile user-friendly website. You tell us to go online but your website doesn't accommodate android users! We want an app that we can connect our pens to and upload our notes. We also want to be able to access those notes from our phones! Quit acting like you don't care for you customers and start listening to what we have to say!

Not sure if i'm missing it - is there NO comment from Livescribe re all of us calling for Android app ????? What's with the silent treatment guys ? This is a real stumbling block to full integration of work station / mobility / data capture etc etc and a huge pitfall - very disappointing indeed. Get it together urgently. My pen cost a lot of money in South Africa with our crazy exchange rate and I WANT to utilize it fully WITH my Galaxy Android Tab !!! NOT HAPPY !!!

I get that it can take time to develop something new on a different platform. However, please post a timeline as to when the Android version will be available. (i.e. Fall 2011, Q3, Q4, Beginning of 2012, etc.) Not asking for a specific date just a targeted timeframe.

There are far too many varitions of Android to make application development easy. What works on one carriers is blocked or disabled by a different carrier. everyone is jumping ship from iPhone/iPad, but at least their platform is uniform across all carriers. OH and not to mention a lot more secure than android.

Since the app doesn't come with instructions, I can't figure out how to speed up the audio playback as it says above in the features. How do you do that? Main problem for me is that I can't transfer pen casts from my computer to my iPad. I have about 5 gigs of pencasts--well over the online limit.

I really like that you can access the Livescribe pencasts on an iPad. I wish there was a better interface with Evernote. I tried to store a pencast within Evernote as an attachment. This works fine and the file will open with Livescribe on the desktop version. On the iPad, I tried to open the attachment from Evernote with Livescribe Player and it switches to Livescribe but doesn't open the file. This would be great functionality and I can't believe it would be that hard since other iPad apps will take a similar handoff just fine. This way, I can continue to use Evernote to organize all my stuff rather than having another bin of files in Livescribe online.

This is great for all my friends who have macs and i-phones and were sadly left out of the Flash player universe. Luckily for me my Android EVO already plays flash so no app is necessary for Android users. Its nice that we can all play along now. :)
