PageTag is a unique pen based application that makes it easy to place and find tags in a Livescribe notebook. It enables the storage of a text tag, date & time of creation, and location information (notebook, page number and page coordinates).
Important Features are:
1) Tags can be browsed or searched, on the pen itself
2) Customization options allow the selection and ordering the metadata to be displayed

4) QuickTag to place tags without having to create the text (i.e. circle existing notes, and tag it as important)
5) Tap N Pick existing tags and reuse.
Tags are created using on-pen Hand Writing Recognition (HWR). PageTag supports creation of English/ Numeric Tags for any Locale.

Page Tag works well for what I need it for – to do searches on topics when I am not using Livescribe desktop. It works more like an index where you can add pages to an index listing by key word such as TO DO or projects such as MAIN ST. It has not crashed at all on the Echo 4GB pen and the sound works well. It’s a must to complete the tutorial. To add a tag you write a key word and pause – it will then tell you to double tap to add the page. You can then continue to add more tags as needed. When using Livescribe desktop I can search the custom tags by searching for the tag name such as MAIN ST. One thing to add is that you can sync the page numbers by tapping on the first page of the book. Since I had removed the first page already from the book I was unable to sync the page numbers so they are off by one. It worked on my 3 subject binder just fine since I still had the first page. Overall I would say worth the money and works as advertised.
It's great to see a developer trying to fill this hole in the SmartPen's repertoire. LiveScribe should support inline tagging on paper natively. I bought this app, and am generally disappointed. The tags don't make it back to the computer in LiveScribe, much less Evernote. It only works on paper, with the LED display telling you "SHOP" occurred on page 15 or something. *Maybe* useful for some specific applications, but not useful as a general tagging solution. I hope this developer (or another) will find a way to get this app up to a useful level. Actually, I really want LiveScribe to implement native tags. I have no use for this app.
...it sounds better than it works. I will see about how to fill out a problem report, because so far the audio is distorted and it crashed on me three times in a row this afternoon. It's a fantastic concept though. If the bugs get worked out I'll re-rate it for sure!
The app will exit if you start writing while in the main menu of the app. This is expected behavior as per Livescribe user experience. If anyone is seeing another form of abnormal exit from the app, please go to the support website and provide me with some details. I will gladly look into it. PageTag Creator
I have only been trying it for a couple hours, but it has crashed on me.
