Web Services Product Manager

Reporting to Livescribe's Sr. Director of Product Management, the PM will help define and advance the company's web services initiatives and globalization efforts.

We are seeking an individual who is goal-oriented, mobile technology savvy, and has a passion for great services. This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of Livescribe's web services strategy and roadmap, collaboration across functional and product teams, and participation in the concept, development, launch and sustain phases of the product lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing development of the web services product vision and strategy with a focus on internal and external systems addressing core user needs as well as company needs.
  • Development and execution of tactical plans, with the ability to translate broad strategic objectives into specific tactical plans.
  • Effectively collaborate with business, marketing, technical and design teams to develop requirements, prioritize enhancements, translate into PRDs and drive projects to completion.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum five years experience in product management

Web Front End Developer

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about design and usability and a master with complex javascript and other scripting languages (python).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • UI, site usability and x/HTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX/Flash production
  • In conjunction with back end engineers, provide a highly compelling, cutting edge front end user experience
  • Ongoing development of our Flash applications (AS3)
  • Create working comps and rapidly prototype UI concepts (Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Hands on architecture and design of new and existing foundation frameworks and services.

Sustaining Hardware Manager

Responsibilities will include component qualification, failure analysis and manufacturing support. This individual will manage a small team of hardware engineers and technicians, providing guidance and mentoring.

  • Contribute to definition and fulfillment of future hardware products roadmap.

Primary Responsibilities:

General:

  • Identify, plan and implement quality programs and/or procedures to monitor, improve and control the quality performance of all the Livescribe products.
  • Design and administer processes in accordance with the global Quality Standards (ISO, TL, etc.)
  • Effectively manage Electronics Manufacturing Services (outsourced)/Supplier Quality, New Product Introduction Quality, Customer Response Cycle Time, Quality Processes Excellence, and Digital Six Sigma.

Requirements:

  • Education:

Inventory and Cost Analyst

Reporting to Livescribe's Vice President of Supply Chain and Logistics, the Inventory and Cost Analyst will review and analyze the sales forecast, ensuring that on-hand inventory and sales demands are in line.

We are seeking an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, pay meticulous attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a team within the department and cross-functionally. Primary Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Analyst

  • Monitors, reviews, analyzes and coordinates inventory flow based on short and long term inventory planning; reviews, analyzes and approves new items for inclusion into the inventory; reviews, analyzes and coordinates the transition or deletion of obsolete items to minimize financial impact to the company.
  • Initiates and monitors procedures for inventory data control; monitors inventory usage trends through evaluation and analysis; performs analyses in forecasting future inventory requirements; Develops a plan to address root causes and identifies specific steps to reduce inventory. Documents potential drivers for inventory variance or excess inventory.
  • Resolves various problems related to inventory control; recommends and designs modifications, procedures and enhancements to the material management computer system.
  • Plans and organizes analytical studies related to inventory control; develops or utilizes personal computer applications to assist with inventory studies or projects; confers with representatives of other departments, contract manufacturer, transit agencies, vendors and others as required by project assignment.
  • Develop and implement all policies, procedures, systems and best practices with regard to inventory, for the purpose of maintaining accurate financial information.
  • Maintenance of the BOM, component pricing and manufacturer price adjustments. Conducts inventory counts and reconciliation and parts returns; performs and analyzes weekly stock orders.

2. Cost Analyst

  • Builds cost models for all the products and identifies cost reduction opportunities with cross functional team.
  • Participates in weekly cost reduction meeting with cross functional team to ensure all cost reduction action plans are achieved on time.
  • Publishes management report on cost reduction status and cost projection for upcoming quarters.
  • Ensures material cost reductions are timely updated in the finance system to avoid overpayment to suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an emphasis on communications-both verbal and written.

  • Help lead and drive the internal S&OP (Sales & Operational Planning) process

Assistant Controller

Reporting to Livescribe's Controller, the Assistant Controller will manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee internal controls, ensuring accuracy, timely deliverables and compliance.

We are seeking an individual with a demonstrated deep technical understanding of US GAAP, including revenue recognition. This individual will have strong supervisory and analytical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining the General Ledger.
  • Equity accounting.
  • Draft, manage and publish the monthly accounting calendar and take responsibility for an effective and efficient general ledger close.
  • Research technical accounting matters for compliance with US GAAP.
  • Manage the external audit requests and answer initial questions.
  • Design, develop and streamline SOX controls and processes.
  • Review/prepare monthly account reconciliations for all general ledger accounts and validate accuracy and substance of schedules supporting the reconciliations.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions, ensuring transactional integrity.
  • Work with outside CPA firm to complete and file timely sales, use and property tax returns.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business.
  • CPA required.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive accounting experience with at least 4 years public accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Cost accounting experience a plus.
  • Manufacturing/Consumer Products industry experience preferred.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary hands-on mechanical contributor working with new products team. Actively collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain and all design and manufacturing partners to bring new product concepts successfully into market.
  • Work collaboratively with contract manufacturers and ODMs to ensure industrial designs are translated into detailed mechanical designs and are successfully taken through development into production.
  • Work closely with partners on plastics tooling design and ensure high quality and manufacturability results.
  • Support new program Accessories development as well as sustaining development for smartpens.
  • Work closely with documentation management to own mechanical BOM. Work closely with vendors of mechanical components to review specifications and ensure suitability for new designs. Actively engage with Supply Chain team to seek out and validate cost reduction strategies for mechanical components.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8 - 15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering;
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of integrated consumer electronics products; MSME (or BSME with equivalent experience) required.

Skill and Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Pro-E
  • Experience in the entire HW lifecycle from industrial design through detailed design and tooling design into production and sustaining changes to improve yield and/or product quality
  • Familiar with engineering documentation process and coordination of mechanical BOM including 2-D drawings, documentation, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape innovative industrial designs into high quality mechanical designs that can be mass-produced.
  • Experience with the mechanical characteristics that influence acoustic properties of integrated audio devices is highly desirable.
