Senior Software Product Manager

We are seeking a candidate to fill our newly created position of Software Product Manager for Mac Software. The successful candidate for this position will define and manage our new desktop software efforts from a business and marketing perspective and will help build a new software product from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a lead role and in defining and delivering our newest desktop software product.
  • Work closely with the Software Engineering and UI Design teams to assure the final product includes the necessary functionality, fit and finish to satisfy our customer base.
  • Create actionable requirement documents and specifications and drive them to fruition.
  • Be at times both inward focused while working with teams within Livescribe to design, develop and deliver the final product, and outward focused to evangelize and demonstrate the product in the marketplace.
  • Take responsibility for feature and functionality versus time to market.
  • Lead a cross-functional team and “own the business” of this software product.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in high-tech product management, including taking products from concept to market.
  • 5+ years of Mac software experience a requirement, preferably delivering a variety of software solutions to the Mac community
  • A working understanding of Mac OS X a requirement.
  • CS/BS/BA or similar technical degree required, MBA degree a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Start-up experience a plus.

Senior Product Manager, Developer Tools

We are seeking a candidate to fill our newly created position of Product Manager for Developer Tools. The successful candidate for this position will define and manage our developer tools efforts from a business and marketing perspective, while working closely with our Developer Relations Group in order to assure the delivered product satisfies the needs of developers for the Pulse smartpen platform.

  • Play a lead role and in defining and delivering developer tools for the Pulse smartpen.

Senior Hardware Quality & Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a "hands on" Senior Hardware Quality and Reliability Engineer who is a high energy, quality minded individual who has been involved in multiple product development and launch cycles and exudes enthusiasm for product quality bordering on evangelism!

The Senior Hardware Quality and Reliability Engineer's primary responsibility is to identify the current status of the project and to develop the tests necessary to identify potential issues. The engineer will work with engineering to reduce or resolve these potential failures through the implementation of testing protocols. In addition, the ideal candidate will develop and implement long term company wide policies and procedures, and recruit and secure resources and staff to ensure the design and release of high quality, high reliability products to the marketplace.

This candidate will be responsible for testing and qualifying engineering designs at various points along the product development path, reliability and long term testing of final product as well as directing and managing contractors that provide consulting servicing, facilities for testing and burn-in, including environmental and agency testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide early involvement support during product definition and engineering development to ensure designed in quality and reliability.
  • Manage all agencies testing to FCC Standards, EMI/EMC, UL, CE, and ASTM.
  • Collaborate with software QA to establish governing product standards.
  • Define HW QA Reliability test which will be supplemental to DVT and should be effective for exposure of the HW design and Reliability issues.
  • Report bugs to developers and maintains documentation of test results; ensure closure; analyze test results and provide reports.
  • Provide review of all test data and establish release criteria for all products entering manufacturing.
  • Ensure the various developmental and final versions of hardware meet the product PRD and Functional Specs before releasing to prototype and or manufacturing and passes all reliability and quality tests.
  • Develop, write and implement HW QA test plan.
  • Develop and execute HW Quality and Reliability test plan with prototype, pilot and release boards and associative products.
  • Develop theoretical (using Bellcore) and experimental MBTF analysis and tests of individual components, PCBAs and product assemblies and identify product weaknesses and long term reliability issues.
  • Develop reliability testing policies, procedures and protocols to ensure quality product releases and low/no product related quality returns.
  • Support engineering with design review leveraging the best and brightest SMEs and suppliers.
  • Plan and implement testing strategies and procedures.
  • Work with project and program manager and developers to review the DVT test plan and test results.
  • Participate in release planning.
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade test plans.
  • Manage third party contractors implementing test and burn-in procedures.
  • Analyze product deficiencies and test results.
  • Ensure customers' needs are being met per functional specifications.
  • Utilize defect tracking software to report and record status of testing.
  • Review business requirements and functional specification documents.
  • Develop standards and procedures by determining minimum requirements for production release, establishing escalation guidelines, communicating processes to development team.
  • Assist in testing releases by planning test cycles, tracking test results and informing development of any issues. Accurately document defects, validate fixes, and update defects.
  • Provide management with test case coverage and defect metrics to substantiate release recommendations.
  • Work with other members of the team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of previous experience as a QA/Reliability Engineer working with development teams in a hardware testing environment
  • Working knowledge of FCC Standards, EMI/EMC, as well as UL, CE, MIL STd's and ASTM standards
  • Experience with multiple product development lifecycles
  • Experience in creating formal test plans and documenting test results
  • Experience with cable stress testing and failure and analysis
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of QA process and methodology
  • Experience with complete project life cycle of analysis, design, implementation, testing and regression testing
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with setup and configuration of hardware and troubleshooting
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, in a fast paced environment while working as part of a team and to apply creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work both independently and as part of a team and thrive on technical challenges
  • Expertise in analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; related engineering field or equivalent experience

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes including injection molding, metal forming and pcb construction
  • Experience with handheld communication devices and wireless technologies
  • Familiarity with software QA

We are looking for a Tools Developer Software Engineer who can successfully drive the design and implementation of development tools for our platform. Enabling application development by 3rd party developers and by our user community is a critical component of our business model; consequently, our work will play a pivotal role in the success of the company. Your creativity, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills will be key factors in enabling you to be successful in developing extensible java base integrated development environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Help define our overall tools strategy.
  • Play a lead role in defining and implementing our Java development tools
  • Play a lead role in defining and implementing our Rapid Application Development tools.
  • Work closely with our application development group and runtime services engineers to ensure that the development tools meet the needs of the applications and leverage the capabilities of the platform.

  • Seven or more years of experience with cross platform JAVA with C++ preferred.

Senior Electrical Engineer
