Livescribe and Evernote Team Up

Quickly import handwritten notes and audio to Evernote

OAKLAND, Calif. – October 14, 2010 – Livescribe Inc. (www.livescribe.com) maker of the award-winning Echo and Pulse smartpens, and Evernote®, creators of the multi-platform software and service that helps consumers capture, organize, and remember everything, announced plans to collaborate and develop new solutions that benefit both Livescribe and Evernote customers. Now Evernote customers can easily access written and spoken information captured by Livescribe's smartpens through the web, mobile devices and personal computers.

As a first step, the newest Livescribe Desktop (LD for Windows 2.3.2 and LD for Mac 2.3 are available today at www.livescribe.com/install and existing customers will be prompted to download the week of Oct. 18) allows customers to upload their notes and audio captured with a Livescribe smartpen directly to their Evernote account. In the future, the companies plan to simplify and streamline information sharing between Livescribe and Evernote.

“Many of our customers have been asking for this capability,” said Byron Connell, Livescribe chief marketing officer. “Livescribe is dedicated to improving the way people capture, access and share information, and will continue to identify strategic partners, like Evernote, where software integration will allow consumers to get even more value from our technology while using their preferred business applications and information management tools.”

Livescribe's Echo and Pulse smartpens capture everything consumers hear and write and provide easy access to important information by simply tapping on written notes directly on paper or on a computer using the Livescribe Desktop software. Notes and audio are also searchable via Livescribe Desktop or Evernote.

“Livescribe has done a great job of streamlining the process of digitizing handwritten notes. Now, with the Evernote integration, those notes become a searchable, always accessible part of your Evernote memory,” said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. “Our two products bring together the best of analog and digital technology. We're excited to partner with Livescribe and look forward to further development in the future.”

How It Works

As an initial step to integrate technologies, consumers can select notes and audio from within Livescribe Desktop (available for free at www.livescribe.com/install) to import to their default folder within their Evernote account. They can opt to send pages of notes (.png file), the accompanying audio sessions (.wav file) or both to their Evernote account.
