Stopping the Current App with the Home Button

On powering up, your smartpen starts in the Home state.

The smartpen screen shows the WiFi connection status, time, and battery level.

At any time, you can return your smartpen to the Home state by tapping a Home button. This stops the current app and returns the smartpen to the Home screen. Use the Home button when you want to stop an app and start another.

Home buttons are printed in most Livescribe Dot Paper products.

In the latest paper products, the Home button is a icon in the shape of a house.


In older paper products, the Home button is a light circle just above and to the right of the printed Nav Plus (an earlier version of the Menu button).


  1. Tap the Home button on any Livescribe Dot Paper.

    The current app stops, and the smartpen screen shows the Home state.

  2. Launch another application. For instance, you can tap a paper button.
Alternatively, you can stop an app by turning off the smartpen. Press the smartpen power button.
