Calc Quick Command

The Calc Quick Command solves simple arithmetic problems.

The Calc Quick Command launches an app that allows you to solve a simple arithmetic problem on any unwritten area of Livescribe Dot Paper. Read the answer on the smartpen screen.

When using Calc, follow these guidelines:

  • Numbers can contain up to 12 characters, including a decimal point.

  • Operators can include +, -, ×, *, /, and ÷.

  • You can double-tap instead of writing the equals sign. For example, 52 - 14 followed by a double-tap is like writing =.

    Note: If the length of the math problem exceeds the screen size, the beginning of the problem scrolls off the left of the screen as new characters are added to the right.
  1. Double-tap the center of the Menu button.
    The smartpen is waiting for you to write a Quick Command.
  2. Within three (3) seconds, write the word calc.

    Using its predictive text feature, your smartpen shows the first command that matches your written input. In this case, calc is displayed as soon as you write a “c”. When you see the command you want on the screen, you can stop writing.

  3. Wait a second or two.
    Your smartpen prompts you to write a problem.
  4. Write a basic math problem, such as 51 x 3 =
    Your smartpen displays the result.

At any time, you can tap the Quick Command you just wrote, and the Calc app will launch for you to write a new problem.
