Tribute to Sally Ride: A History of Space Exploration

We at Livescribe were saddened to hear about the passing of an exceptionally noteworthy individual this month: Sally Ride, the first American woman to reach the stars. A physicist, astronaut, and educator, Ride spent her life both searching for knowledge and sharing what she had learned with the world, inspiring generations of women (and men, too!) to get involved in science and technology. Her achievements with NASA are well-documented, and she subsequently spent time in teaching as a professor of physics, and founder of Sally Ride Science, which provides educational materials to young students to this very day. We join the world in saluting her bravery and dedication to science, and in celebrating the legacy she leaves behind. To commemorate the advances Ride helped bring to the world, we have created a pencast taking you through the space discoveries that occurred during her lifetime.
