Students can find plenty of uses for their smartpens in school. If you’ve taken the smartpen plunge this year, chances are you’ve already discovered how to evolve your note-taking in the classroom – recording lectures, sorting your class notes digitally, sharing group brainstorms online, and so forth. Of course, now school is over for the summer. Obviously, that’s a wonderful thing, but what about your smartpen? It seems like a waste to just stash it in your bookbag and let it collect dust until September, doesn’t it?
Thankfully, the Noteworthy Blog is here with a few new summer tips. Students can find plenty of uses for their smartpens, even when they’re off-campus!
For starters, have you decided just what you’re going to do with your summer? How many times have you gotten together with your friends and lounged around watching TV or playing video games, and said to each other, “You know what we really ought to do?” Sadly, so many of the great ideas you come up with during these hang-out sessions will be forgotten at the end of the day. They might not all be winners (your friend’s continued insistence that everyone should go base-jumping is a little weird), but just maybe there was a gem in there. Use your smartpen to brainstorm some real summer plans, and play them back when you’re ready to actually plan. The idea for your next great road trip might be in there!
Unfortunately, not all of your friends might be around this summer. Your best friend may have gone traveling with their family, or worse – this might be the year they moved away to attend college in another state. For those friends, the smartpen is a terrific way to keep in touch! Nothing lends a personal touch to a letter like hearing the writer’s voice right alongside their handwritten correspondence. Why not send a pencast to the folks you’re thinking of this summer? Become smartpenpals and stay connected!
Or, maybe this summer you’d just like to take a break from the social pressures of school and spend some time alone with your thoughts. Relax and get back in touch with your creative side! You can use your smartpen to write that story you’ve been thinking of all year… or take a shot at your own web-comic. Use the smartpen to record the characters’ voices, and start the world’s first comic-cast!
Of course, there is a downside to every summer break, and that is that they must ultimately end. Once the end of August rolls around, you’re going to need to get a bit of work done – yes, we’re sorry for bringing it up already – getting your stuff in order to head back to school. The smartpen will help you compose and share a school supplies list with your friends, so you can all be sure you didn’t miss any essentials… but if you’re already using a smartpen to make the list, at least you don’t have to include it in your shopping.
